Petra, was called Petra because it means 'stone'. When she was rescued on the streets of Athens, her mange was so bad that her face had turned to stone.

But she was still going.

Her rescuers think that Petra had never been touched by a human before.

She had probably spent her whole life wandering the streets.

Even though it didn't look good for Petra,rescuers refused to give up on her.

She was also incredibly underweight.

Progress for Petra was slow, but steady. It took her a long time to enjoy being petted.

Her skin was so damaged, even the smallest touch could cause her pain.

But look at her now!

Look at that beautiful face!

Petra now has a loving forever home, and loves being cuddled by her mom!

Proof that no dog should be given up on!

She's happy, healthy, and loves having her belly rubbed!
