Colin Kaepernick caused quite a stir at a 49ers Preseason game when he refused to stand for the National Anthem at the beginning of the game.

Kaepernick has been clear about his decision, citing violence against people of color as the reason he refused to stand. "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

His action has caused a huge internet backlash and drawn criticism from many. Some 49ers fans have even set fire to their Kaepernick jerseys in protest.

Today Kaepernick told journalists he'll continue sitting until there's real change. ""Yes, I'll continue to sit. I'm going to continue to stand with the people that are being oppressed. To me this is something that has to change. When there's significant change and I feel like that flag represents what it's supposed to represent, this country is representing people the way that it's supposed to, I'll stand."

Kaepernick made it clear that he had no problem with the military and had not intended any offense with his actions. How does this make YOU feel? Do you think Colin Kaepernick is being unpatriotic by refusing to stand for the National Anthem? Should he be praised, or should the 49ers drop him from their roster?
