Everything you need to know about the 10th cycle of AusNTM

It’s January, which means you’re broke, you’re back at work, you’ve likely already broken a resolution or three, and you’re probably facing 2017 with some of the same suspicions you left 2016 with.

There’s a bright light on the entertainment horizon, however, with the imminent return of some of your favourite sartorial shows. Australia’s Next Top Model is back on Lifetime at the end of January – and here’s everything you need to know about the latest cycle.

Megan Gale is brand new as a judge

But don’t think for a second that she hasn’t earned her spot on the panel – she’s a well-known Australian model who was discovered at the age of 18 after entering a modeling competition. She retired from the runway in 2008 but has stayed in the limelight, even appearing in last year’s feminist movie smash, Mad Max: Fury Road.

The mentors are Cheyenne Tozi and The Stenmark Twins

Didier Cohen bowed out after the close of the last cycle – but if you’re feeling his lack, the caliber of the guest judges should cheer you up: Elle Macpherson, Miranda Kerr and Gemma Ward are all set to make an appearance.

The first episode sees the contestants face off against Cycle Seven winner, Montana Cox

Usually, the girls get a few days to shake down and find their feet – but not in Cycle ten. It’s straight to the runway and into competition with Montana, who has enjoyed a very successful career since taking the top slot three cycle ago.

This cycle’s prize is a juicy one

The lucky winner will strut away with a year-long contract with Priscilla’s Model Management in Sydney, a trip to New York City for Fashion Week, a brand-new car AND a spread in Elle Australia.

Will the winner be better than Cycle Nine’s champion, Brittany Beattie?

Hard to call at this point – but you’re sure to see some stiff competition. Among the girls is a Kendall Jenner doppelganger, as well as another who bears a striking resemblance to Michelle Trachtenberg. Babes all round…

Top Model devotees will know that the makeover episode is the one where it all kicks off, and Cycle Ten is no exception. Watch for the girl who gets her long blonde hair all shaved off – and the one who refuses to look in the mirror at all (and do it while combing your fingers through you hair, safe in the knowledge that while you might not be a model, at least no one is trying to steal your locks).

You’re going to love it. The girls are gorgeous, the judges show no mercy, and the challenges are more difficult than ever. Let the games begin.
