Why Is Your Cat A Picky Eater?

Cats are famously fussy eaters. If you're a cat owner, you know this to be true! You've placed her bowl in front of her like you're serving the Queen of England and watched as she sniffs in disgust and rejects her food.

Well now, scientists have figured out why cats are such picky eaters!

A new study found that cats are a lot more sensitive to bitter food. Apparently, they have 12 different genes to process bitter taste. More genes mean a more heightened, stronger reaction to bitter stimuli. As a result, foods that taste bland to humans and dogs may actually taste bitter to cats.

Basically, your kitty isn't being picky. She just has a supersensitive sense of taste. Deep down we've always known they like the finer things in life.
