Her father discovered her body in the family basement eight hours after she had been reported missing. She had been strangled to death. The case of JonBenet Ramsey was never solved, and the news gripped a nation. Many suspected either of her parents, or her brother. Either way, no case was ever brought against them successfully, and her murderer still remains at large.
JonBenet was buried on Christmas Day 1996
In 2008 DNA evidence from the crime scene cleared her family from being involved. JonBenet's mother died of Cancer in 2006, never knowing the truth about her daughter. Well, the truth of JonBenet might still be out there; a plethora of TV specials is airing across several channels including CBS, Discovery and Dr. Phil, all aimed at finding out what really happened that fateful night
The case received incredibly wide media coverage
The specials will start airing in September in honor of the anniversary of her death. Initial reporting on the case was hard on her family, but TV executives have claimed that they have been responsible this time. No one has ever been arrested in this case despite two Grand Jury hearings; maybe these TV specials will uncover new evidence and blow the case wide open-only time will tell.
