Because you can't always hang out, you have to find other ways to catch up - Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Snapchat... you name it, you're on it.

You spend most of your time narrating your life to each other in minute detail

Because your relationship is based mostly online, you often end up texting your BFF any time ANYTHING happens.

Your photo gallery is full of silly selfies

Your best friend loves you just as you are, so you never really bother sending your nice selfies - just the weird, ugly and silly ones.

You have an in-depth knowledge of who everyone they know is

Do they know anything about you? Probably not. But you know gossip about everyone your best friend hangs out with in their city, from their relationship status to their Twitter feeds - not that you ever let on when you finally meet them in person.
