Monday 26 June

American rock band Blue Oyster Cult, most famous for Don't Fear The Reaper, celebrate their 45th anniversary with a run of festival and headline dates around the UK and Europe, including a gig at Northumbria University in Newcastle - one of their first regional shows in nine years.

Tuesday 27 June

Local indie-rock-punk band St Buryan launch their latest single, Lucid, with a gig at Jumpin' Jacks in Newcastle. Support comes from Sunderland's Alba Nights (formerly known as The Real McCoys), indie-dance-rock outfit Peace Frog from Leeds, and indie-pop band Great Waves.

Wednesday 28 June

Russ Tippins, the Newcastle-based guitar player with new wave of British heavy metal band Satan, and his own Russ Tippins Electric Band, plays a solo gig at The Station pub in KIllingworth.

Thursday 29 June

The Legendary Shack Shakers are a four-man wrecking crew from the South whose explosive interpretations of the blues, punk, rock and country have turned legions of potential converts into true believers. They're at The Cluny in Newcastle.

Friday 30 June

Birmingham reggae band UB40 have been together since 1978 and have sold millions of records around the world, with hits like Cherry Oh Baby and Red Red Wine. This is a gig with a difference, after a day of racing at Newcastle Racecourse.

Saturday 1 July

Tom Clarke was the frontman of Coventry indie rock band The Enemy, whose hits included Away From Here and Had Enough. He's now embarked on a solo career after they went their separate ways, and he's playing at the O2 Academy in Newcastle.

Sunday 2 July

Harri Endersby is a County Durham folk singer whose lyrics are firmly rooted in the world of story-telling. Her new album, Homes/Lives, begins with acoustic, stripped-back tracks and gradually introduces electronic instrumentation and beats. She's playing an afternoon show in Claypath Delicatessen in Durham.
