Littlefinger, Creepy As Always

We all know that Lord Baelish has a creepy crush on Sansa. But, that moment where Littlefinger was trying to "seduce" Sansa was hard to watch nonetheless.

There's nothing like seeing a middle-aged man try and propose marriage to a teenager. Maybe it would've gone over better if Sansa still had parents to rebel against.

Nope. Still Creepy.

2

The Library

After six seasons, we finally got to see The Citadel at Oldtown. After a long journey from Horn Hill, the home of House Tarly, Sam, Gilly, and the little one, finally arrive so Sam can start his training.

While Gilly and the baby have to wait outside, Sam is taken into the vast library of the Citadel. That Library. By the Gods, that was the greatest library in the whole of Westeros and Essos. Seeing that look on Sam's face, when confronted with such expansive knowledge, was clearly one of the high points of his life.

3

The Birds

It appears the "little birds" of Varys can do much more than just listen. Well, they're actually Qyburn's birds now.

Just as the Sept of Baelor is about to be destroyed by a cache of wildfire, Qyburn gives us an oddly satisfying stabbing of Grand Maester Pycelle. While it absolutely was not seen coming by any means, it was a powerful move by Qyburn to take complete administrative control of the Red Keep, something Cersei clearly wanted as well.

4

A King's Landing

After witnessing the horror his Mother had caused, Tommen just could not live with himself. Can't blame him there.

Clearly, Cersei had gone insane. If Tommen had tried to do anything against her, you could tell she would snap even more than she has. So, he decided the most harm he can actually do, is by ending his reign early and giving her everything she thinks she wants.

5

Hand of the Queen

Ever since Season 5, we've been gluttonously watching as much Tyrion and Dany banter as possible. Because it's awesome.

Finally, it seems clear to Dany that Tyrion actually cares about her, but not in the way she might've originally thought: She finally sees just how much he cares about the world itself. About people. Just as she is starting to drown in the blood of her own Targaryen nature, Tyrion pulls her out of it. It is this moment where she knows she has chosen well: Tyrion will be her Hand.

6

Frey Affray

As the Freys and Lannisters celebrate their victory over Riverrun, Jaime and Walder Frey have a private conversation.

While Walder rambles on about his "victory," Jaime questions why he is even needed at all, since he cannot hold what he is given. Why have the Freys around, when they cannot hold their own? There was a moment when we thought Jaime would take down Walder Frey himself, but that honor belongs to someone else...

7

Winter is Here

The Starks are always right in the end: Winter Is Coming. With the coming of the white raven, it is finally known for certain: Winter is here.

After a short, blood-soaked autumn, winter has finally come, just in time for the Starks to be reinstated as the Lords of Winterfell. This was an awesome and symbolic scene as we see Jon and Sansa talk about the aftermath of the Battle of the Bastards and what must come next.

8

Alliances

We were all so happy to see that Olenna Tyrell, the Queen of Thorns, was safe and sound, as she had gone back to Highgarden in the previous episode.

Being the real brains behind her House, she answered a call to Dorne, who also has some murder to spread on a Cersei sandwich. While at first we just think this is an alliance against Cersei, Varys pokes his head in as the grand plan finally forms: Dany will enter Westeros from Dorne, with the support of Houses Tyrell and Martell. The south is hers, and she's not even there yet.

9

The Red Woman

In the penultimate episode of Season 6, we see Davos Seaworth find the toy he had made for Shireen Baratheon, Stannis' daughter.

This was great: Davos confronts Melisandre in front of Jon and straight up asks permission to execute her. Even when angry, Davos is as polite as ever. But Melisandre knows her work is not finished. Thus, Jon exiles her from the North, a good move and one we all loved to see as Melisandre rode away with her tail between her legs.

10

Jaime...The Punisher?

As Jaime returns from the Riverlands, he is surprised by the still-burning city of King's Landing. We can see his mind start reeling with the "ifs."

But as he enters the Throne Room, he sees Cersei on the throne, being crowned by Qyburn. It is this moment where he knows that his son, Tommen, is dead. All of his children are gone; in part, because of the tyranny of his sister. This he knows. He loves her, or what she was. But now, what is she? Is she still the same sister he was brought into the world with? Or has she become a monster? What will he do next?

11

Burn Them All

With Tommen completely manipulated by the High Sparrow, it became clear to Cersei that there must be another way to win. And she found it.

Without a trial by combat, she knows that she will be found guilty at her trial. But she is wisely holed up in the Red Keep with Ser Mountain Zombie to keep her company. After researching the caches of wildfire the Mad King hid around the city, she does the unthinkable: destroys the Sept, and everyone in it. The ramifications are endless, but it's clear that Cersei will lose whatever humanity she has left.

12

The Mountain Unmasked

After the brutal destruction of the Sept and everyone in it. Cersei is scene standing over Septa Unella, the woman we cheered on as she broke Cersei.

But that time is over. And the High Sparrow is dead. With that she tells the Septa that she will live for a very long time indeed. Cersei calls in the Mountain, in all his zombie glory, he takes off his helmet for the first time. We barely see his face, and we thankfully cannot see what he does to Septa Unella. Let's pray we never have to.

13

Red Wed Revenge

Some of the best revenge we've ever seen on television, this scene was absolutely incredible.

After all this time, there was finally an answer to the Red Wedding. After bailing on her Faceless Men training, she decided to use what she learned and head back to Westeros. While passing through the Riverlands, she decides to stop by the Twins to pay back a certain debt. One we all enjoyed watching, and that she may have enjoyed just a bit too much.

14

The White Wolf

The Battle of the Bastards is won and the Starks once again hold Winterfell for the first time since Theon took it and betrayed Rob. When the Young Wolf was killed, some of us never thought there would be a Stark in Winterfell ever again, until now.

The meeting of the Lords is a big moment for Jon. This is the very first moment where he is treated as a true Stark, while all his life he'd been a Snow. The North Remembers, and the North has spoken. Jon is the new King in the North!

15

The Mad Queen

In the aftermath of the Sept of Baelor being destroyed along with everyone inside, Cersei finally has all the power.

This is the moment Cersei has been waiting for all her life. She is being crowned Queen by her new Hand, Qyburn. With the means to her ascension being bathed in the blood of her children, it could not be a more bittersweet moment. She has all the makings of an insane tyrant who seems to be following in the footsteps of the Mad King himself.

16

The Way to Westeros

This was perhaps the most gratifying scene of the entire season. After seeing Dany grow into her own, she is finally on her way to conquer Westeros.

The defining and final moment of season 6 set the stage for the next season in the absolute best way possible. We have a war of the ages followed by a war for the dawn. How will Westeros react to another Targaryen coming across the sea, claiming the entirety of the continent as her own? How will Jon Snow, the King in the North, react to the Mother of Dragons?

17

On A Bed of Blood

This is by far the most anticipated moment in the entire show. From the very first episode, we are being trolled for this moment to occur.

Ned finds his dying sister on a bed of blood. He is presented with a baby who is shown to be Jon Snow. What does this mean? Everything. Jon Snow is not the son of Eddard Stark; he is the son of Lyanna Stark. But who is the father? Well, who named Lyanna the Queen of Love and Beauty? Who took her away, sparking Robert's Rebellion and all the events to follow? The father of Jon Snow: Rhaegar Targaryen, the son of the Mad King, and heir to the Iron Throne.
