Meals at Home
The Meals at Home service are continuing to do their best to ensure that meals are delivered to vulnerable people in their homes during the severe weather conditions. There is however disruption to the service and delays are expected in the timings. Please note updates will be posted here and our contact number is 01623 490015.
Home Care Services
Home care services commissioned by the County Council are continuing to do their best to ensure that a service is provided to vulnerable people in their homes during the severe weather conditions. There is however disruption to the service and delays are expected in the timings of the service. If any member of the public has any concern they should contact the Council on 0300 500 80 80.
11.10am Good news if you fancy a flutter
"We are racing here at Southwell today. We are the only meeting which has beaten the weather in the UK with the groundstaff working the track throughout the night to make sure the meeting goes ahead."

10am - Country Park closures
- Sherwood Forest Country Park, visitors centre and all facilities (shops, toilets and restaurant) closed
- Rufford Abbey Country Park is closed
9.12am - High School Admissions
Due to current weather conditions Nottinghamshire County Council customer service centre is experiencing a 'high call volumes that may increase your waiting time in the queue'.
If your enquiry is regarding your child’s secondary school offer for September 2018 and you applied online, please log into your online account where you will be able to view your offer and accept your child’s place.
For parents who did not apply online a decision letter will be sent today by second class post. Decisions will not be given out over the telephone.
8.17am East Midlands Train disruptions
Nottingham/Mansfield/Worksop Route
We will be running a reduced service on this route with one train per hour in each direction between Nottingham and Worksop.
Ticket Information
Ticket restrictions have been relaxed. This means that if you have an advance purchase ticket it will be valid for travel earlier or later than booked. Peak time restrictions have also been lifted to help you get to where you need to be.
If you have a ticket dated for Thursday 1st March or Friday 2nd March, you may use your ticket to travel between Friday 2nd March and Sunday 4th March.

Temporary road closure - Sutton in Ashfield
Bad weather has shut a Sutton Road.
The temporary closure of Chesterfield Road, Huthwaite, Sutton in Ashfield from its junction with Wild Hill to its junction with Woodland Avenue will remain closed until it is safe to re-open.
Ashfield District Council cancel meeting
Tonight’s Ashfield District Council Cabinet and Council meetings have been cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions. They have been rescheduled for Monday, March 5.
