Archie
Archie
An intense, conflicted teen, a high school sophomore who got in shape over summer and now has to handle newfound attention from his female classmates. He struggles balancing his social life with his passion for writing and performing music — against the wishes of his father and his football coach.
Betty
Betty
Sweet, studious, eager-to-please and wholesome as apple pie with a huge crush on her longtime best friend, Archie. Tired of being the perfect daughter, student, sister, etc., she turns to her new friend, Veronica, for life advice — much to the consternation of her emotionally brittle mother.
Veronica
Veronica
Much like her nemesis Cheryl Blossom, Veronica is charismatic and confident young girl. Before her father's arrest, Veronica was very much like her comic book counterpart and was as nasty and cruel. However, since coming to Riverdale, Veronica is much more empathetic and caring of others, going out of her way to give her friends a taste of her life, from imported cupcakes to high-end designer clothing. Often, during confrontations, Veronica's ruthless side is not afraid to fight back, especially if it involves her friends and family.
Cheryl
Cheryl
Cheryl embraces the typical mean girl/queen bee persona, she walks around the school as if it belongs to her, and she won't hesitate to contest anyone who believes differently, thriving off the fear and intimidation she traffics in from her fellow classmates. Her more notable personality traits range from shallow, to vain, too conceited. She's unquestionably self-absorbed, Cheryl concerns herself with her appearance, first and foremost, rarely ever thinking about anyone other than herself, Jason may be the one exception to this. She appears to have genuinely loved her brother, more than anything, so she claims. Cheryl isn't as horrid as she would like people to believe, she can be kind, and she does have a softer side, following her relationships with Jason, she's very close with Josie McCoy, the two ladies are seemingly best friends, so when one calls in a favor, the other will back them up.
Kevin
Kevin
Kevin is a very outgoing, charismatic student who knows the social scene of Riverdale very well. Being an openly gay teenager, Kevin freely talks about other guys in public and has shown to have an interest in fashion as well. He has a tendency to make very blunt and honest statements about the people and events in the series.
Josie
Josie
A striving, competitive, fierce, snooty, and ambitious girl who is the lead singer for the popular band Josie and the Pussycats.
Jughead
Jughead
Jughead is most accurately described as a somewhat creepy, wise-cracking sleuth. He's crafty, intelligent, and well-known for his cynical wit and sardonic humor. He's fairly perceptive, and looks at Riverdale from an objective point of view that no one else has. He can surely be passionate at times about his family, movies, and his closest friends, but there aren't many things that catch his attention, or that he would consider as being worth his time.
