Today is a momentous day in the history of pop music.
Seventies Pop super group Abba have announced that they are considering a reunion.

Next year will mark 40 years since Abba won the Eurovision song contest, catapulting them to fame.

They sang their breakthrough hit "Waterloo" and brought home Sweden's first hit. They are the most successful group to have participated in the show.

The group comprised of two couples, Björn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Fältskog and Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid "Frida" Lyngstad. They were married during the bands active years.

Although fame put strain on both relationships and both couples had divorced by 1982.

Abba are one of the most commercially successful acts in music history, having sold over 300 million records worldwide

Musical Mamma Mia was written by band members Benny and Bjorn.

Although they never officially broke up, Abba have not performed as an item since 1982.

They performed for British TV Show "The Late Late Breakfast Show" on 11 December 1982

When asked about a possible reunion in honor of their anniversary, Fältskog said "Of course it's something we're thinking about,"

All band members are now in their sixties.

"There seem to be plans to do something to mark this anniversary in some way, but I can't say at this point what will come of them." She continued.
