Worst Cities To Live in Colorado

Pueblo is located in central Pueblo County, in southern Colorado. Pueblo has the highest crime, unemployment rate, and poverty rate in the state of Colorado. Pueblo also ranks pretty bad in terms of crime, nationally.

Sheridan is located in western Arapahoe County. Crime in this smaller Denver suburb is through the roof, and poverty is some of the highest across the nation.

Springfield is located in Baca County, not far from the Oklahoma border (or the Kansas one, too, for that matter). But, there are virtually no jobs in Springfield, the nearest grocery store is in Lamar, and the weather is lousy.

Ault is located in Weld County, about 20 minutes east of Fort Collins. The town has little to no jobs available, and 1 in 3 children live in poverty here.

Englewood, located in Arapahoe County, has the most violent crime than any other city in Colorado. Seven of the nineteen drug cartels in Colorado are based in Englewood. Jobs however, are abundant, as Englewood is located by the Denver Tech Center, home to several major large corporation headquarters. So, hey it isn't all bad here!

Las Animas is located in Bent County, in southeastern Colorado. 1 in 2 people here live in poverty, and -gasp- there was a stabbing here in 2015.

Akron, in Washington County, has the most children living in poverty than any other city in Colorado. Jobs are just plain scarce here, even with the farming. At least the town is safe though.

Thornton is located in Adams and Weld Counties. Many people find it hard to believe that Thornton, one of the fastest growing cities in the country, could be a bad place to live. Well, that is the case with Thornton. Thornton is dangerous. They had 6 murders last year. In a town of just over 100,000. Thornton ranks just ahead of Commerce City in crime....speaking of Commerce City...

Commerce City, in Adams County, resembles Gary, Ind. or Flint, Mich. more than Denver. That is based on the fact that Commerce City is the most industrial city between Chicago and Los Angeles. Crime is high, but has decreased significantly.

Burlington is located in Kit Carson County, literally right outside of Kansas. Jobs are far few and in between, and crime is high for the size and location of the city.
