1

Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon

The English actor is probably best known for his role in "The 100" where he played Lincoln. In "American Gods" he will take on the main role of Shadow Moon, an ex-con, who is approached by the mysterious Mr. Wednesday, while being released a few days early to attend his wife's funeral. He accepts the job offered to him, because the life he had been expecting is now gone, and finds himself caught between a battle of the old and new Gods.

2

Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday

Ian, whom we've previously seen as Blackbeard in "Pirates of The Caribbean - On Stranger Tides' or as Ray in "Game of Thrones" will take the role of the mysterious Mr. Wednesday who turns out to be the old Norse God Odin, who's traveling through America to find the Gods who have now settled into human life.

3

Pablo Schreiber as Mad Sweeney

Looking slightly less creepy without that mustache, the former "Orange is the New Black" warden checks into "American Gods" as Mad Sweeney, a leprechaun who has been brought to America by a girl. It is revealed that Mad Sweeney is the American version of Buile Shuibhne, a Medieval Irish ruler.

4

Kristin Chenoweth as Easter

Everyone's favorite Glinda ("Wicked") is joining the cast as old Goddess Easter. She's a Germanic Goddess and namesake of the festival of Easter. She's currently living in San Francisco where she's being visited by Moon Shadow and Mr. Wednesday who try to recruit her.

5

Gillian Anderson as Media

From Dana Scully, to Stella Gibson to a Goddess. That seems just right to me. Gillian will be seen as one of the new Gods, namely Media, who is a personification of television. Among others she will be seen as Marilyn Monroe and we couldn't be happier about it!

6

Crispin Glover as Mr. World

From "Back to The Future", to "Beowulf" to "Alice in Wonderland," Crispin Glover is really no stranger to us. In "American Gods" we'll see him as Mr. World, who is the leader of the New Gods and also Loki, the Norse trickster God as well as one of the Old Gods posing as Low Key Lyesmith.

7

Bruce Langley as Technical Boy

Introducing us to Bruce Langley, "American Gods" gives the role of Technical Boy to Bruce. TB is part of the New Gods and a personification of the internet. Technical Boy is probably the character who has been changed most since the evolution of the internet in 2001, when the book was first published.

8

Yetide Baraki as Bisquis

She has previously been seen in "Aquarius" and "Masters of Sex" and will now star as Bilquis. She is part of the Old Gods, namely the Queen of Sheba.

9

Peter Stormare as Czernobog

Checking in from "The Lost World" and "Fargo," Peter takes on the role of the Old God Czernobog who comes from Slavic mythology. He often says he misses his brother although he's sometimes not quite sure if they're the same person.

10

Orlando Jones as Mr. Nancy

Having starred in a variety of TV shows already, Orlando Jones will now be seen as a central character, namely Mr. Nancy, an Old God. He is one of the first Gods Shadow meets in the House on The Rock.

11

Emily Browning as Laura Moon

Emily plays the deceased wife of Shadow Moon so I guess her role is rather short lived. Either way, we're glad to see her. The last thing I remember seeing her in was in "Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events!"

12

Demore Barnes as Mr. Ibis

Demore Barnes has previously been seen alongside Gillian Anderson in "Hannibal," among other things. As Mr. Ibis, he runs a funeral parlor with his friend Mr. Jacquel. Ibis is an Old God.

13

Chris Obi as Mr. Jacquel

Our favorite Mirror Man ("Snow White And The Huntsman") joins the cast of "American Gods" as Mr. Jacquel, an Old God, running a funeral parlor with his friend Mr. Ibis.

14

Cloris Leachman as Zorya Vechernyaya

From "Inglorious Bastards" to "Malcolm in the Middle" to "Two And A Half Men" to "The Office," this woman has done it all! All the more exciting that she will be joining the show as the Old God Zorya Vechernyaya from Slavic Mythology. She'll represent Mercury the Evening Star. She has two sisters, the Midnight Star and the Morning Star.

15

Mousa Kraish as Jinn

Mousa is an American actor and director. He's worked on "Fast and Furious," "Superbad" and "Munich" and will now take the role as Jinn, an Ifrit from the Middle East. An Ifrit is a supernatural, winged creature of fire.

16

Corbin Bernsen as Vulcan

From "Law & Order," "Castle," or "Switched at Birth," Corbin has been in lots of shows and movies and will now join the cast as Vulcan, an Old God. One of his oldest allies is Mr. Wednesday. Vulcan is one of the characters that does not appear in the novel.

17

Jeremy Davies as Jesus

"Lost" alumni Davies, who will also be starring in the 4th season of "Sleepy Hollow" in 2017, will join the show as Jesus.

18

Omid Abtahi as Salim

Omid is an Iranian-born American Actor probably best-known for his role of Homes in "The Hunger Games - Mockingly Part II." He has also been on "Castle," "The Good Wife" and "Grey's Anatomy." Salim is a young man from Oman who has just moved to New York City. He works as a taxi driver.
