Fashion changes so often that it can be difficult to stay up-to-date with all the trends. However, some things never fall out of style and mustaches are trendier than ever. Most people have grown one at least once in their life and many return to this look every now and then. Celebrities are also big fans of mustaches these days, with famous actors such as Jude Law and Johnny Depp being shining examples.

Regarded as a symbol of distinction back in the day, the mustache is appreciated today by people of all ages and backgrounds. Everyone from hipsters to elderly gentleman finds it fancy and there are dozens of types of mustaches, each amazing in its own way. Not surprisingly, companies trying to promote their products using mustaches as a symbol. Moretti Beer, which is a famous Italian beer brand use it in their recent campaigns and there are plenty of other beer manufacturers who have embraced the idea.

Interesting enough, not only consumer brands but also ventures from entirely different industries found it worthwhile to promote themselves with mustache logos. The new Maltese online casino Mr Play stands out from the crowd by having a unique character promoting their brand. In this highly competitive industry, being easy to recognize is essential and apparently a mustache can achieve this. The fact that even an Indian based marketing company jumped on the bandwagon probably speaks louder than words.

To say that the mustache has returned to style and that it is here to stay is an understatement. Having said this, those who don’t have a mustache and contemplate the possibility of growing one must know a few things. People who have a mustache can confirm that 10 things have happened to them at least once.

1) You spend an astonishing amount of time at the mirror trying new styles

A mustache is in many regards a growing thing and this isn’t only about the obvious thing that hair keeps growing. Once you have one, you feel compelled to try new styles all the time and enjoy inspiration from pretty much everything. Other people, TV stars and sometimes original ideas serve as a starting point for creating a unique style of mustache. It’s hard work, but it is usually worth the effort.

2) You compare your mustache to other people's

As mentioned above, other people represent the most important terms of comparison when you have a mustache. Sometimes it’s envy, but in most cases these comparison are brought out from admiration and inspire people. The fun thing about comparing your mustache to other peoples is that you are pretty certain that they do the same with you. That’s an excellent incentive to better yourself and your mustache.

3) Tom Selleck is your personal role model

Today when so many celebrities grow a mustache, it’s pretty difficult to acknowledge the contribution of iconic actors. However, for many people who embrace this trend, Tom Selleck's glorious 'tache is a source of inspiration. Regarded by many as the perfect mustache, it has certainly set an important milestone and it is a point of reference.

4) You've been called "Mario" at least once in your lifetime

Appreciated by your peers, a mustache is guaranteed to compel others to come up with witty things to say about you. Being called Mario is one of them and the first time one hears this comparison, it’s almost certain to bring a smile on one’s face. Even so, a joke is only funny the first few times you hear it and for some people it can become annoying after a while.

5) You only drink half of your beer (the other half goes to your mustache)

Drinking in general and beer in particular is a challenge when you have just grown your mustache. In the long run however, everyone gets better at this and accepts the fact that sharing their beer with the mustache isn’t the worst thing that can happen.

6) At Halloween you dressed like Zorro at least once

Impersonating famous characters is always easier when you have a mustache and Zorro is quite a popular hero for Halloween. With just a little effort any mustache can evoke memories of the legendary character and luckily Zorro costumes are quite easy to find.

7) Movember is your favorite month

A mustache provides you with great opportunities to impersonate heroes for Halloween and even Santa Claus in December. However, the favorite month for most people who wear a mustache is November, commonly referred to as Movember. During this month men grow mustaches to collect money and awareness of men's health issues and look fabulous in the process.

8) Children give you weird looks

Facial hair is not as common today as it used to be, so the ones who have a mustache, are more likely to stand out. As far as children are concerned, this is a funny look so don’t be surprised if kids give you weird looks and even laugh behind your back.

9) Sometime you wish you were a middle age super intelligent Belgian man like Hercule Poirot

Just like glasses, a mustache also projects a unique image and influences the way people look at you. In conjunction, they can create the impression of a subtle intellectual, an image that’s rather easy to embrace. Comparisons with Hercule Poirot are always flattering.

10) You spend way more time taking care of your 'tache than your hair

Any thing of beauty requires attention, but those that you see every day tend to take more of your time. A mustache literally sits on your face and you see it so often that you simply can’t settle for second best. Not surprisingly, people spend more time grooming their mustache then they do to take care of their hair.
