The United States Census Bureau projects that by 2060 the Hispanic population in the nation will have risen to 28.6%. As the number of Latinx college students also increases, there are also various scholarships open for students of Hispanic descent. Below are just a few of the many scholarships aimed toward aiding in Latinx college student success.

As the number of Latinx college students also increases, there are also various scholarships open for students of Hispanic descent. Below are just a few of the many scholarships aimed toward aiding in Latinx college student success.
The Ann Seki Memorial Scholarship
This Chevron sponsored scholarship is in honor of Ann Seki, who was an original member of the Hispanic Recruiting Team. Seki was an employee at Chevron for 30 years and was instrumental in ensuring the company met diversity hiring goals. Her dedication and love for the engineering field inspired Chevron to sponsor aspiring, young hispanic students majoring in Engineering.
National Scholarship a program of TheDream.US
This scholarship is specific to the “DREAMers” of the U.S., which requires proof of DACA or TPS or meeting TheDream.US Immigration eligibility criteria. The applicant must also qualify for in-state tuition for whichever state he or she resides. There is also an option for college students who take classes solely online.
Opportunity Scholarship program of TheDream.Us
This scholarship is also for “DREAMers” who are high school graduates living in a “locked out” states that does not offer in-state tuition. The main criteria is that the applicant must be planning to enroll in one of four Opportunity Partner Colleges.
Haz La U Program
This program was created by The Hispanic Heritage Foundation and Colgate-Palmolive partnership, and awards scholarships to high school Hispanic youth. Applicants must be of Hispanic heritage. Awards are not restricted by potential majors.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund
The HSF Scholarship is offered to high-school seniors, transfer students, undergrad and graduate students. All majors will be considered when choosing a candidate, but STEM majors will stand out.
NBCUniversal/LNESC Scholarship
This scholarship sponsored by NBCUniversal/LNESC, was created to help Latinx undergrad students who are interested in media with hopes of being in the entertainment industry. Applicants should vocalize the importance of Latinx representation on media platforms.
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Scholarships
These scholarships are specific to Hispanic students who are majoring in STEM. Students will need to submit a professional headshot, a photo/video release form, and an updated resume and a student profile. The scholarship comes in two payment forms distributed in the fall and spring semesters.
The Carlos M. Castaneda Journalism Scholarship
This scholarship is focused on graduate journalism, communications, photojournalism, photography students. The recipient must be of Hispanic or Spanish descent. Applicants must be able to read and write in Spanish and be able to prove admission to a post-graduate program.
La Unidad Latina DREAM Scholarship
This scholarship supports students regardless of legal status. DREAMers and students who are undocumented are all eligible for this scholarship. This was put in place in order to encourage and assist students who do not have the resources that most young students would have in the U.S.
American Political Science Association Minority Fellows Program
This scholarship is specific to students applying to PhD programs with a focus in political science, this scholarship caters to those who are the minority. Doctoral students have the chance of earning $4,000 towards their education. This amount will be divided and distributed over a two year timespan. The preferred applicant will be enrolled in a political science PhD program.
