Capture one of the aliens and interrogate him or her. If they need help, render assistance. Otherwise, arm all photon torpedoes and fire at will.

Immediately leave the bridge and engage in hand-to-hand combat with the first alien you meet until the issue is resolved.

"Not another one!" Delay your current mission to Kraxxon Prime for at least four days--enough time to miss the event entirely.

"Finally, some R&R!!" Put your first officer in charge of the bridge. Spend the next two hours packing before taking a solo shuttlecraft to the event.

"I suppose I can manage that." Make whatever sacrifices necessary to attend (you've got your hands full with a thousand things and keeping everyone on your crew happy is your first priority). Once there, treat it like a party and have a great time.

"I'll be there." There must be a good reason you've been called and you're always prepared to do your duty and make whatever contribution you can.

Agnostic. You're willing to accept others' beliefs and respect them, even hear about them, without judging them.

Atheist. All religious belief is superstition and causes more harm than good. Only primitive cultures still observe religion.

Try to reason with it--if it will agree to one last warp speed trip, it may be replaced at the nearest deep space station. And, no guarantees--but you'll create a committee of experts to "look into" other possibilities it may pursue in the future.

Interrogate it for hours until you catch it in a logical error, causing it to crash and catch fire. Extinguish it. Repair it. Machines are so stupid.

Reward it for achieving sentience by disconnecting it from the warp core and allowing it to explore its new personality on the holodeck. It may become a valuable member of your crew some day. In the meantime, you could probably build another one from the spare parts you have lying around.

Throw Emek in the brig. Argue with Gul Maret about whether or not to release Emek to Cardassian authorities. Discover that Emek has escaped and beamed down to the planet with the supplies. Immediately beam down to the planet and engage in hand to hand fighting with Emek. Somehow cause the biomimetic gel to blow up and destroy a major city block. Feel good that you averted a disaster by apprehending a suspected terrorist.

Convene a meeting of your senior staff, along with Gul Maret and Emek in attendance. Discuss at length the charges, allowing everyone to have their say. After careful consideration, decide on your own that Emek should be confined to quarters until such time as his story can be verified with the Bajoran authorities. If his story checks out, escort him to Bajor and make the delivery of the medical supplies. If his story is false, put him in the brig and contact Starfleet Academy to turn him over to the Federation authorities. Notify Gul Maret via subspace transmission that the matter has been dealt with effectively.

Immediately begin repairs on Emek's ship. Meanwhile, meet with Emek in your ready room to get the full story. Contact the Bajoran authorities to determine whether Emek's story checks out. If it does, assist with the delivery of the supplies, adding some of your own (those people are suffering!). If Emek turns out to be a terrorist, throw him in the brig and prepare to hand him over to Starfleet authorities. Inform Gul Maret that the situation is resolved.

Have a shouting match with Gul Maret. After a cooling off period, come to your senses and contact the Bajoran authorities to determine the veracity of Emek's story. If it checks out, repair Emek's ship and send him on his way. If it doesn't hand him over to Gul Maret without further delay.
