Which Berlin Nightclub Are You?

This relatively new club is a hidden gem near the Hauptbahnhof train station. Its main sound is house and techno, but be sure to stop by one of its gallery events, Tape Modern, held every few weeks.

Anyone who wants to get the quintessential techno experience heads toward Berghain. Few are able to get in, though. Over the years, the line outside has become a bit of a tourist destination, though its inexplicable door policy keeps the vibe right inside.

Tresor is the reincarnation of Berghain’s predecessor, which was originally an abandoned department store vault in East Berlin before it became the center of Berlin techno.

Located on the 12th and 13th floors of a former Soviet building, Weekend is a tastefully designed venue that offers a panoramic view of Berlin as well as a rooftop bar in the summer.

It’s not as historic as Tresor, nor as gritty as Berghain, but Watergate made a name for itself with a carefully curated lineup of shows, drawing techno superstars and introducing new blood as well.
