President Dalton is no more
He lost the primary and therefore cannot serve a second term. And it's all Elizabeth's fault. Well, at least according to Chief of Staff Russell Jackson. The Secretary publicly announced that she believes in climate change and surprisingly President Dalton agreed with her, which was probably the main cause that ruined his chances of being re-elected.
Elizabeth accepted the offer to be VP
Last season President Dalton asked Elizabeth to be his Vice President, providing he gets elected for another term. After the long hiatus the viewers finally got an answer: Elizabeth said yes. She has doubts - as pretty much every human being with a conscience would have - but she wants to be Conrad's VP.
José asks Henry to return to the DIA
After Henry and José shared a traumatic experience last season, they seem to have become BFFs. José comes to visit Henry at the university and asks him to return to the DIA. Henry does not commit but he seems to want to. The viewers can probably expect him to join the team once more in the upcoming episodes.
Dalton is going to run as an independent
It was Elizabeth's idea. She believes Dalton has a chance to win, despite the fact that said chance is so small that it is barely existent. Russell Jackson thinks it is insane but he goes with it. The plan is to keep the other candidates from getting the required number of electoral votes so it will be up to the House of Representatives to pick a president. In this case Dalton actually would have a very good chance of winning. The big downside of that plan is that Dalton needs to pick another Vice President. So the show probably wont change its name to "Madame Vice President" anytime soon.
