Tutankhamun died at 19 years old without an heir, and after reigning for only nine years. King Tutankhamun was diagnosed with a series of pathologies which included tuberculosis.
(Born in 1918), South Africa's former president contracted TB in 1988 while in Pollsmoor Prison in Cape Town. It was treated and cured early.

(Born 1947), this Mexican-born musician, one of the top guitarists of our time, had a battle with TB in 1965, when he was 18 years old and living in California. He spent three months in hospital recuperating from the disease.
