Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine that dates back to early Chinese medicine in which thin needles are inserted into the body. Don't fret - the needles are about as tiny as one of your hairs! They are strategically inserted at certain anatomical points to relieve specific symptoms associated with many health conditions.

Actually, traditional Chinese medicine practitioners believe that the human body has over 2,000 acupuncture points connected by pathways. The pathways create an energy flow through the body that's responsible for overall health, but when the energy flow is disrupted, that is when disease can arise. It's believed that by applying acupuncture to these points, the energy flow is improved, therefor improving health!

*Side note: There is no scientific proof that these acupuncture points or pathways exist, however numerous studies and experts can vouch that acupuncture can be effective for a number of conditions.
