CONTROL BREATHING
This is as easy as it seems. Try to take 5 deep breaths. By deep, I mean inhale for a count of 8 and breathe out for 8. You will be focusing on your breath and not on any previous hands. If at first this feels a little to challenging for you to do just slow down your breathing and control it. Do it several times and you’ll be able to move on with your session.
DISTRACTION
The best way to achieve that is to just play your favorite song. As you are listening to your favorite tracks your mind is not focusing on the stress. Music will affect your emotions and that’s the whole point. How can you feel anxiety when your beloved track is playing? It’s impossible.
DRINK WATER
It sounds like the most obvious sentence ever. But it’s true! Water actually helps to decrease stress. If you don’t have a bottle of water during your session then I honestly don’t know how you made it this far. It’s essential. Students get water on their exams not only because of the thirst but also to reduce stress and improve concentration.
HANDS PRESSES
Just press your hands together really hard for 5 seconds and loose it. It will help to release tensions in your body, especially shoulders. When you’ll feel a little exhausted from doing these exercise you won’t have energy to get furious about your opponent’s suck out.
That's it. Those are most common and simple ways to calm yourself down. We of course wish you that you'll never have to use them! Good luck at the tables!
