My review on The Mermaids Forever palette
I'll start out by telling a little about this palette. This palette is a 32 shades, .7 oz and contains shimmery shades, neutrals and mattes. Here is what the manufacturer tells about this product.
Makeup Revolution's Mermaids Forever 32 Piece Eyeshadow Palette in a beautiful collection of colors! Mermaids are forever, and this palette is the stuff that fantasies are made of. A breathtaking collection of jewel tones inspired by aquatic fairy tales and folklore, from sea greens to cobalt blues.
What I love and don't love so much
What I love most about the Mermaids Forever palette is that almost all colors go on so smoothly and there are a ton of really pigmented shadows to choose from. Some things I don't care for with this palette is that with some of the shadows you have to apply more than once for total coverage, but for the price of ony $15 how can you beat that? I overall love this palette and give it an 8/10!
Swatches of what to look forward to
These first eight swatches are some of the lightest and some of the most shimmery shades in the whole palette. The first on the furthest left is a shimmery frosty white, second is a nudish pink sparkly shade, third is a very shimmery light sparkly pink, The fourth down is a light sparkly purple, the fifth is a very pretty darker matte blue, the sixth is a shimmery turquoise color, and the seventh is a shimmery copper and the eighth is a very frosty silver. The first three shades and the last shade could also be used as highlighters.
My favorite shades in this section are The first two really shimmery shades the two blues and the two at the end. The only two I do not care for is the third shade down from the left the pinky shade is my least favorite and the reason for that being is that it is just too shear for my skin tone and even almost does not give off any coverage almost, pretty much every other shade in this palette gives off awesome coverage but this one really doesn't do anything for me . With every palette their usually will be a few shades that you don't care for and with this palette this the one.
The other shade I do not care for is the very light shimmery sparkly purple because it lacks coverage as well it is just way too light and needs a lot of work to show up!
Second row of swatches (Third runner up)
This row gets a bit deeper but some shades still remain pretty light but some are also very pigmented. Starting with the first shade from the the left is #1 a frosty sparkly white (could definitely be used as a highlighter), #2 you can barely see this one because it is so sheer is an orange shade, #3 a light but sparkly pink, #4 a nice purplish pink shade or Plum #5 Very pigmented dark blue, #6 Sparkly turquoise, #7 a shimmery brown very pretty! #8 Deeper sparkly purple.
My favorites here are the following: #1 frosty sparkly white, #4 purplish pink shade, #5 Deep dark blue, #6 Sparkly Turquoise alot like the one in the first row. #7 Shimmery Brown, and #8 a Deep Sparkly Purple. Ones I do not care for as much include #2 the orange shade this one is so sheer and can barely be able to be worked up to create even enough pigment. #3 Light sparkly pink, again far too sheer for me and not enough pigmentation. That's all otherwise I love the rest in this row.
Third row of shades (My second favorite row)
This is the second runner up for a reason these colors are deeper which is what I love in shadows and all of these are really pigmented. Starting out is #1 a frosty pink which really rocks! <3, #2 is a deeper orange and this one actually shows and is pigmented, #3 is a darker pink with a little shimmer, #4 is a deep matte purple, #5 the deepest blue in the whole palette, #6 Greeninsh Gold, #7 Deep Brown and lastly #8 a Greenish Cobalt color.
My favorites in this row are (mostly all of them) wait no yep all of them they all rock and I adore their pigments.
These can be made to create some amazing looks!!!
Fourth row (My all time favorite row)
This is the last row in the palette, and it is my all time favorite row. Starting with #1 which is a shimmery yellow, #2 is deep copper (gorgeous), #3 a very deep pink, #4 a purpleish blue, #5 an even darker purple, #6 a Greenish black, #7 Shimmery Brown, and #8 a Blackish Blue. Again every single color in this row is adored by me!
