12 Things That Make You Goth

Especially psychologically provoking, paranormal, horror, and/or true story (just to name a few).

I mean really, you can't tell me the adrenal rush you get from a good horror flim/book/song/whatever doesn't make you feel better than a Marijuana high?? AND there's no side effects...

This is one of those things that really disturbs people about us; which, I blame solely on stereotypes. We have a deep interest in all these unexplainable things, and people mistake it for being "disturbed". People need to learn that we're just interested in these things; we don't harm people, or ourselves.

Let's face it, the mainstream and "normality" is just another bump on Human Lane. Why would anyone want to be part of the judgment, ridicule, the bending yourself into a pretzel to make everyone else happy, no self expression, etc..

Now, before I get bombarded with "F.Y.I. Mail"... There's a lot of so-called Goths who judge, hate, ridicule, and bully others, especially those "Goths" who think they know everything about being a Goth (stupid right?). No one can say I'm "not a Goth" because I wore pink lipstick one day, or I don't listen to a certain band. I mean really, go fuck yourself.

I know we touched on this slightly a little earlier, but I wanted to go more into depth. I don't PERSONALLY think you can be considered an actual Goth without knowing about it's roots; especially musical roots (trying not to be a hypocrite..but 98% off Goths agree on this). I mean, if you don't know when the subculture *officially* started (80's) and what some of the bands were that helped shape Goth into what it is now (Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, The Cure)... Then what DO you really know about the Gothic Subculture??

But, when it comes to "hating the world"...I think that's an overstatement . More accurately and specifically, we hate what happens in the world; and 99.99998% of the time..people are the cause of *insert tragedy/trauma here*. Do you honestly think that all these people kills themselves for fun..? Or do you think PEOPLE drove them to? Hmmm...

Some may call this stereotypical, but others (including yours truly), love the pale look...It really sets off a lot of features.

Anyway, most Goths like to avoid judging and hating. They like acceptance just like most people. It doesn't mean you are or are not Goth if you do or don't judge, but most Goths hate being judged/judging (I know this merely from personal opinion and experience)
