Toblerone Is Trying To Cheat People Out Of Chocolate And The Internet Won't Stand For It
They're taking away our chocolate!
With so much uncertainty in the world today, it's comforting to know that chocolate hasn't become tarnished.
Not so fast! I guess you haven't been following #TobleroneGate.
#TobleroneGate? What's that?
The Toblerone candy company is robbing people of chocolate by spacing out the gaps in their candy bars.
Whoa, bring it back down to reality, buddy. Here's the details...
The company recently unveiled the new design to reduce the candy bar's weight of what was 400g and 170g bars. The move reduced the candy bar's weight to 360g and 150g.
Wait so, I'm getting less chocolate, but paying the same price?
Yup. Toblerone reps said on their Facebook page: "We chose to change the shape to keep the product affordable for our customers."
Of course, their fans were understandably not cool with the news.
We told you terrible things, would happen, but did you listen? #TobleroneGate
Might #TobleroneGate inspire action on climate change?
Oh no! What's next? #Toblerone #TobleroneGate
For the love of all that is good in this world, please say that other candy companies will not follow suit on this!
Unfortunately, this is nothing new. Cadbury reduced the size of their beloved creme eggs a few years ago. Other candy companies will probably shrink their products eventually too.
Ah, shake it off... sodas seem to keep getting bigger.
