In February, Keri Young and her husband, Royce, were told that their baby had no brain, a rare condition which meant that the child would not survive after being born. After being offered the option to go ahead and abort, Keri instead decided to carry their daughter, whom they had decided to name Eva, to full term so that her other organs could be donated to help other babies in need. Royce wrote a Facebook post about his wife's decision, saying:

I was a spectator to my own life, watching a superhero find her superpowers. In literally the worst moment of her life, finding out her baby was going to die, it took less than a minute to think of someone else and how her selflessness could help.

Eva was born on April 17, 2017 and died shortly after birth. Royce wrote another post on Facebook saying:

We said hello and goodbye to our sweet Eva yesterday. She was so perfect in her own little way.
