Many are now calling for a boycott of Uber using #DeleteUber after the driving company continued service to and from JFK International Airport while taxis were on strike to protest Trump's ban on immigration. Do you think we should boycott Uber?
On Saturday, after the New York Taxi Workers Alliance decided to strike between 6 and 7 pm in protest of Donald Trump's ban on immigration, Uber tweeted that it would be lifting surge pricing so that people could still travel from the airport.

In response, many began tweeting with the hashtag #DeleteUber, calling Uber's break of the strike profiting from "the wrong side of morality." Rival company Lyft also gave rides during the strike, however, their social media silence seems to have kept them safe from public scorn. Lyft did pledge to donate $1 million to the ACLU over the course of the next four years, though, in order to better defend immigrants and refugees.

Nonetheless, Uber has since pledged $3 million to help drivers affected by the ban and has also promised to compensate any drivers who would be unable to return to the US for their lost earnings, as well as provide legal counsel. Uber's CEO said in a Facebook post on Sunday that:
Uber is a community. We’re here to support each other. Please help Uber to help drivers who may be affected by this wrong and unjust immigration ban.
