Freddy the Tortoise got caught in a Brazilian forest fire. He sustained extensive injuries. His chances of survival were slim at best, but a group of heroes didn't give up on him.

Freddy, a little bashful without his shell.

The Animal Avengers: A group of fantastic volunteers who got together and made Freddy a brand new shell -- using a 3D printer!

Spoiler Alert! This tortoise is actually Iron Man.

It wasn't an easy task; in fact this is the first time in history this has ever happened! They pulled it off, after some serious work. Nice job, team!

The new shell fit great! But the Animal Avengers thought it looked a little bleak, so they decided to add a touch of color...

And now Freddy is all good to go! Look at him roll! I have to say, I'm impressed. That's a hell of a shell.
