I don't think they minded the Donut as much as when she said "I hate America"...

You may remember that last year Ariana Grande was part of a donut themed scandal...

TMZ released the footage of Ariana at a donut shop

2

Grande was in a donut shop in Southern California when she decided to lick several donuts on a donut tray. When offered a fresh batch by the employee, she said "What the f**k is that? I hate Americans. I hate America.” And thus the hashtag #donutgate was born

Ariana did have a good sense of humor about the incident

Grande formally apologized for her behavior and said that she 'was never prouder to be American', but DNC staffers still didn't want to give her a gig performing at the White House for the President

Wiki Leaks revealed that a deputy compliance director at the DNC wrote in an email; “Republican Congressman used this video and said it was a double standard that liberals were not upset with her like they are with Trump who criticized Mexicans; cursed out a person on Twitter after that person used an offensive word towards her brother.” The White House did not invite her to perform at the Gala for the President

At this point Grande has apologized for her behavior, and seems genuinely remorseful. Should she be allowed to play at the White House in the future? Was the DNC right to not invite her to the Gala?
