The Eternal Warrior
The Eternal Warrior
You will probably enjoy Gilad Anni-Padda, star of "The Eternal Warrior." Sworn protector of the Earth and functionally immortal, he is a barbarian with the perspective of millenia, which can be helpful to his teammates in the group and book "Unity." His solo series leads to "The Valiant," which then separates into "Wrath of the Eternal Warrior." The blessing of his immortality leads to survivor's guilt like you wouldn't believe.
Bloodshot
Bloodshot
"Bloodshot" is right up your alley. A mixture of Punisher's ruthless efficiency and Wolverine's grizzled, guinea-pig angst, he's an unstoppable killing machine in search of himself.
Faith
Faith
Flying high, eh? "Faith" has your back through thick and thin! Far from brooding or bloody, Faith Herbert just wants to help people, geek out over Doctor Who, and find a sweetheart. Originally from the pages of "Harbinger," her solo series is nonetheless easy to dive into and is currently an ongoing.
Rai
Rai
In the future... all is devastation! Unless you live on the floating island nation of New Japan, that is, especially if you're their hyper-advanced folk hero, "Rai." His series eventually leads directly into the event "4001 A.D.," which expands the futureverse of Valiant's world and cast. Clayton Crain's detailed digital artwork gives a shiny sheen to Rai's dystopic adventures.
Quantum & Woody
Quantum & Woody
"Quantum & Woody," the prodigal buddy comedy of Valiant's universe, have enough superpowers to save the world, but not enough sense to save their sanity when they're near each other. These heroes for hire are dripping in satire, whether pointed at themselves or the world they live in that seems to resemble ours in more uncomfortable ways than we care to admit. This series eventually leads to a crossover with another dynamic duo, "Archer & Armstrong," in "The Delinquents."
The Death-Defying Doctor Mirage
The Death-Defying Doctor Mirage
Shan Fong's supernatural stories are almost a world unto themselves in the Valiant Universe. Her efforts as a sometimes-televised paranormal investigator who can talk to ghosts cross over with her grief-fueled search to find her late husband's spirit. Both story arcs of "The Death-Defying Doctor Mirage" represent a creative team firing on all cylinders.
Divinity
Divinity
Abram Adams, codename Divinity, is your guide to unlocking the secrets of the universe... but is humanity ready to listen? Maybe such power is best left to its own devices, just as "Divinity" (I and II; III coming December 2016) can be enjoyed on its own. Loopy logic, time travel paradoxes, and loyalty to the USSR are at the heart of this standout series.
