Billy C. Aldridge, a former Marine, died in a nursing home on October 14th. He had no remaining family.

2

When no one came forward to arrange a proper burial for Mr. Aldridge, Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services stepped up to the plate. Working in tandem with the Indiana Police Escort, Private Label Caskets, and Memorial Park Cemetery, they put together a funeral for the veteran.

3

Eddie Beagles, Legacy's Vice President, urged people from the community to attend the event, stating that giving this fallen veteran a proper funeral was 'the right thing to do.'

4

The community response was overwhelming, with over a thousand attending. All of them gathered to honor the local hero they had never met.

5

In attendance were other veterans, as well as Marines still serving.

6

"You are his family" Pastor Joe Johnson told the crowd.

7

Rest in Peace Mr. Aldridge, and thank you for your service.
