Or fly the Millennium Falcon with Chewbacca
10 sculptors spent 1,000 hours individually putting in all the yak hair for his distinctive hairstyle but I barely noticed that because I was so professionally detached. Or the fact that you get to bring the Millennium Falcon into hyperspace while it judders around you like you always imagined
...Ok I give in
The exhibition was amazing fun, much more so than I expected. I mean, I got to be a Jedi (sort of)!
The amount of effort and time put in is staggering (180 sculptors worked for a year and the whole thing cost £2.5 million), but what's even more impressive is the clear love for the films’ world that permeates every exhibit, as well as the element of interactivity that makes it a lot more than just staring at an even less emotive Anakin Skywalker.
It’s true that we rather had the run of the place so some of the interactivity might be lost when the crowds pile in, but overall it was a wonderful experience (and much more entertaining than the rest of Madame Tussauds).
Overall, it's well worth a visit – though you should book early to avoid paying too high a price.
