Downton Abbey's Crawley clan could have looked a little different. The X-Files and The Fall star Gillian Anderson was offered a part in the hit ITV period drama back in 2010, but she turned it down. Apparently Anderson was contacted to play American Cora Crawley, a role eventually filled by Elizabeth McGovern.
