Pastor Amy Butler's sermon, "Executive Order," pulled no punches and gave self-proclaimed Christians something to think about.

On Jan. 29th, Rev. Dr. Amy Butler, from The Riverside Church, gave attendees a sermon to remember. The church, known for its political activism and diverse congregation, took a stance against Pres. Donald Trump and his executive order, which barred Syrian refugees from entering the US, suspended refugee admissions for 120 days, and blocked citizens from Iran, Yemen, Iraq, Sudan, Syria, Libya, and Somalia.

In response to Trump's immigration ban, Rev. Butler and fellow clergymen, read verses from the Bible to remind Christians why welcoming strangers into our lands is not only the right thing to do, it's the "Christian" thing to do.

We must never forget that Jesus Christ, the one whom we claim to follow, was an immigrant himself. He and his parents fled Galilee, fearing for his life..."

The church read every verse in the Bible about welcoming foreigners.

Taking us back to scripture, Rev. Butler reminded attendees of its Judeo-Christian values and traditions. Proving with holy-text, that true Christians welcome immigrants with open arms.

Take a moment and ask yourself, "Am I a true Christian?"

Plain and simple.

Regardless of which political party you align yourself with, if you consider yourself to be a Christian then there's an important question you should be ready to answer:

"What would Jesus do?"

Should you oppose Trump's immigration ban if you consider yourself to be a "true" Christian?
