How to fit in as teenager in the 1950's

Teenager's in the 1950's would usually listen to Rock & Roll during party's and mostly school dances.

Teenagers would wear mostly casual clothes. Male teenagers would usually wear white sports collar shirts and blue suede shoes. Female teenagers would usually wear full skirts and stiff petite coats with or without bow ties on them.

Teens would usually help out around the house in their free time by cleaning, or watch T.V with their family.

Female teenagers would usually have a girl's night out and the male teenagers would have a boy's night out and occasionally both would meet up to hang out with each other.

Teenager usually ate home cooked meals that would include roast beef, meatloaf, chicken pot pie, and if they went out it was mostly junk food like pizza's burgers, fries and a lot of soda; especially coca cola.

If teenagers weren't at home helping or being with their family they would be out working at their job. Teenagers would usually be out working in movie theaters, grocery stores, ice cream shops, and restaurants. These were simple jobs that they could manage.

There were general rules for people that wanted to date. Male's needed to be a polite gentleman and the teen should be paying for the girls lunch. Female teens would have to look their best on their first date.
