Wash EVERYTHING!

You read that right. Wash everything! Even if they aren't dirty...wash it! Moths are attracted to everyday scents like smoke, perfume, food, and deodorant. What they aren't attracted too are the fresh scents of laundry.

2

To Fold Or To Hang?

You'll want to hang items such as winter suits, dresses, slacks, or dressy clothes. Also avoid using wire hangers as they will leave dent marks in your clothes. Go with a wooden or velvet hanger. Fold away sweaters, scarves, vests, thermals, and flannels.

3

Plastic Containers

Plastic storage containers are good for storing away your folded items. You can also use vacuum storage bags. It's a good idea to place dryer sheets in between some of your folded clothes to keep them fresh while being stored. Using tissue paper to stuff your shoes will help them keep their form. You want to use boot forms to help keep the shape of the boot then lay them down on their sides in your container.

Remember CCDD

Somewhere cool, clean, dry, & dark is the best place to store your winter clothes to avoid damaging clothes. Under your bed or in a climate controlled facility would be best. Avoid areas that get extreme temperatures such as garages and attics.

Also...

A couple more things to note....this is also a good time to donate those clothes that you no longer wear or just don't want anymore. Oh and while you're looking through your clothes, check for holes or stains. You may have items you no longer need to keep.
