Blade Runner 2049 is clearly set in the same world as the original Blade Runner, only perhaps with fewer restrictions on advertisers.

Atari advertising was prominent in the original, which means that Blade Runner exists in a world where Atari is a contender.

Is this a museum or a showroom?

The replicant birth in the trailer is as disturbing as it is beautiful.

Somehow we don't think this is a good guy.

There seems to be great care to match the look of the original. We can't help but think that Gaff is in one of those vehicles in the background.

The streets have the same mix of grit and glitz.

The juxtaposition of the world that is being sold and the one that was bought hasn't changed.

Looks like Blade Running is just as dangerous in 2049 as it was in 2019.

We can't wait to find out what the gates of these futuristic ruins lead to.

Sadly, it looks like man buns exist in this universe.

The natural world in Blade Runner is at once mundane and mesmerizing. Despite the fire in the center, the ropes holding up the dead tree grab our attention.
