Being away from pizza for a few days is extremely hard for some people. Imagine not being able to have access to pizza for months. This is the reality that our armed forces live in. Luckily, that is all about to change.

An Army lab has come up with a ready-to-eat pizza that can last up to 3 years. The MRE #37 is going to be ready for soldiers to snack on in 2017.

The technology that made this possible is known as Hurdle technology. Hurdle tech is basically a method of lowering pathogens in such a way that it monumentally extends the shelf life of food.

Army techs were able to tweak the tomato acidity, oxygen levels, and ingredient layering in order to magically extend the life of the pizza.
