Gene Wilder, best known for his portrayal of "Willy Wonka", has died today in his home in Stamford, Connecticut, from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. His nephew Jordan was with him.

Wilder enjoyed a long and storied career, working with Woody Allen, Mel Brooks, and winning two Oscars. His final performance was in a few episodes of "Will and Grace" in 2003, for which he won an Emmy.

Gene Wilder was born Jerome Silberman in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
