Though bloggers have different goals in mind while crafting content for their blogs, usually, lead generation is one of the most important goals when it comes to business. But is this possible to actually achieve this goal?

Writing content that attracts lots of leads can be a challenging task. Mostly because it’s not only what you write that matters here – it’s also how you present your writing. So if you want to create posts that indeed convert like crazy, here’s what you should focus on.

1. Offer a solution to a specific audience-related problem.

Your content can offer some information about your company and its business processes, case studies, new trends, etc. However, often, it’s not the information your target audience is looking for – it’s the problem they need to solve.

Make your posts less about your company and more about your audience. Come up with a list of problems related to your industry that they would like to solve. For example, if your company offers weight loss products, you can write an article about how to create a weight loss plan for yourself. If your company is a digital agency, you can come up with an article about the goals personal branding needs to solve.

2. Make a headline look good.

A headline needs to look catchy if you want the readers to click on it. «Catchy», however, is quite a vague definition. For example, a click-baiting headline does attract attention but also leaves the audience disappointed (because, most of the time, it has nothing to do with the content of the article).

If you want to create a proper headline, try making it not only appealing but also very specific. Instead of writing «Benefits Of Email Marketing», write «7 Amazing Tips On How To Craft Compelling Emails». The second headline clearly shows that the article will be dedicated to email writing, not email marketing in general. It also has a number in it, which makes the headline look even more specific and serious.

3. Hold the attention.

Do you know how many people close an article after reading it for 10 seconds? Most of them. People see tons of content everywhere and while you are able to catch their attention with the help of a headline, holding it until they finish reading the whole article is still a challenge.

That’s why a strong introduction is crucial: it shows the readers that an article is as engaging as it seemed from a headline. But an introduction is not enough. You still need to ensure that the readers’ attention won’t drift away in the process.

Here’s what you can do to achieve this:

  • mention some interesting personal facts or include phrases people can relate too. When you do so and describe the same emotions they feel and the same problems that bother them, you make it even more personal for them and will be able to hold their attention;
  • offer some interesting information, be it facts or statistics. It excites people and increases your authority among them as well;
  • ask people questions. While they might not be able to answer them straight away, questions will still stimulate their minds and make them more excited.
