Ah, the splitting of the bill. On every first date it's a question that creates more and angst and anxiety than any other moment before. You've made it a habit to suggest to split the bill because A, it takes away the expectations and tension and B, it's 2019, you can pay your own way! But it's always nice when they pay, if they want to.
