1. Get a goodnight's sleep the night before - You want to be on top of your game for a first date. A good sleep is the best way to make sure you're wholly yourself.

2. Plan your outfit ahead of time - If you're the type of person who gets nervous thinking of what to wear, picking your outfit before will allow you relax just before your date.

3. Get your grooming done - this is the time to get that haircut, get you nails done, a facial. Whatever makes you feel good so you can be happiest on your first date.

4. Make sure you have enough cash - No one wants to get their card declined on a first date. Check your balance and make sure you'll have enough when the date rolls around.

5. Think of what you can talk about - Find out about your date before hand, or if you both met in acting class, think of some plays you can talk about and dissect. Being prepared will also make you relax knowing it won't be totally awkward.

6. Get ready early rather than late - Getting ready ahead of time will keep you relaxed. Running around stressed out trying to find a lost show isn't where you want to be before meeting your date.

7. Look up location in advance - If you're the type you gets lost, it's important to Google map your location in advance. Also keep in mind Google maps isn't always accurate! Double check.

8. Focus on your teeth - Dates are intimate so make sure those pearly whites are taken care of. Floss before you go and use extra mouthwash!

9. Silence your phone - I know, shocker. But phones, although comforting are a major distraction on a first date and will actually cause more apprehension and anxiety. Try turning it off.

10. Be present - Amongst all the nerves and stress surrounding first dates. It's important to BREATHE. If you feel the nerves taking over, try focusing on what your date is saying.
