Jay Gatsby is charming, gracious, mysterious, and has perseverance. He goes after what he wants, which is his lover, Daisy Buchanan. Although she is not what he dreams she is, he never sees it. He throws extravagant parties hoping that she would attend. He persevered in getting her and once he did, she was not the girl she used to be. Gatsby does have some redeeming qualities but unfortunately he fails to see the real Daisy Buchanan.

Daisy Buchanan is beautiful, but with that she is selfish and hurtful. Gatsby has an ideal image of her being pure and innocent, but she is the exact opposite of that. At the end of the book when Gatsby is killed, she leaves and goes to another city with Tom Buchanan, like they always do to avoid their problems. Unfortunately, her only good quality is her beauty, but she abuses it and is ugly on the inside.

Nick Carraway is moral, educated, down-to-earth, an outsider, and has integrity. He is different than any other character in "The Great Gatsby" because they are all about money and riches, which he could care less about. He does not boast about his wealth or his families wealth. He is an admired character by readers because he is different than the rest and he is down-to-earth which is hard to find in East Egg and West Egg.

Lady Macbeth is ambitious, determinant, affectionate, energetic and cunning. Whenever Macbeth could not carry out their plan, she would just do it herself. She never lost her sense of mind during the play. She was ambitious and brave, and had a lot of energy. Lady Macbeth plays a very strong female role and sticks out more than any other of Shakespeare's female characters.

Kurt Vonnegut is the author is the famous anti-war story "Slaughterhouse 5." Although he is the author, he is also a character in his own story sometimes. Vonnegut is humorous and artistic and an excellent author. He wrote about his experience in the war through aliens and time travel. Kurt Vonnegut is an amazing writer who has written one of the best anti-war novels ever written.

The Man from The Road does not ever have a name in the novel, that is why he is refereed to as "The Man." He has a soft side, although he is tough. He would do anything for family, the boy, and he is very protective, devoted, heroic, selfless and kind. He says that his son is his "warrant to live." He loves his son more than anything and despite the horrible things he and the boy go through, he is still tough and heroic, while still being able to be a devoted father to his son.
