This is Bill Belichick. He graduated with a degree in economics and is one of the most winninest coaches in NFL history. He credits his success on knowing math, probability and statistics, and runs these calculations in his head quickly during plays. Do you like using math to make quick decisions?

Could this be you?

Jamie Clarke is an IT project manager who specializes in international sports projects such as the recent winter Olympics in Torino. He studied mechanical engineering in college because he really enjoyed math subjects such as statistics and calculus. He eventually got into a lot of project management roles because his proficiency in math translated well into project management concepts such as budgeting, time tables and variables. IT and software engineering soon became an integral part to many of his projects and he learned computer skills such as coding very easily with the help of his knowledge in math and formulas. He appreciates sports but has little interest in teaching or playing sports. Jamie says: "The most interesting thing, and why I like my job so much, is it involves some sort of engineering, math and IT, there's a lot of logistics, some marketing, and you get to see a lot of games"

Could you relate to Jamie?

This is John Anderson, an athletic trainer for the Arizona State University Men's College Basketball Team. He played sports in high school and loves being part of teams. He realized that he was not talented enough to play at the college level, so he chose a career where he could still be very close to a team atmosphere and also fuel his love for professional sports. While he's not playing sports or utilizing his knowledge as an athlete, he's instead in a career that provides a service to the team. He travels with the team and has close relationships with coaches and players to keep them healthy and win games.

Does John story relate to you? Could you be John?

This is John Urschel, an offensive guard for the Baltimore Ravens. He is the true combination of someone who wants to play sports and also use his math skills on a high level every day. On top of playing football professionally, John also does mathematical research. "I have a Bachelor's and Master's in mathematics, all with a 4.0, and numerous published papers in major mathematical journals," says John.

Could this be you? Would you want to take on playing sports and working as a mathematician at the same time. It's certainly giving John more career options for when his football playing days are over....
