Kirkstall Abbey
It might be a little early to spot the beautiful daffodil displays, but Leeds's historic gem is still a romantic setting. The medieval ruins and surrounding parkland are great for a scenic walk. Last admission is at 3pm in the winter months.
Hyde Park Picture House
This charming period cinema is the ultimate film night destination. Lovingly restored, it's still lit with traditional gas lamps, and shows independent, arthouse and foreign films as well as the latest releases.
Man Behind the Curtain
This cult Michelin-starred restaurant, located above the Flannels clothes store on Vicar Lane, is Leeds's most sought-after table. Serving unique and eclectic modern dishes, it's expensive but worth it for a special date. Here's their hand-massaged octopus dish.
Hazlewood Castle
This extravagant medieval castle between Bramham and Aberford is perfect for a relaxing spa day. With 77 acres of parkland, it's also a scenic spot.
Roxy Lanes
This is a great option for a fun, active date. This city centre bar has ten-pin bowling lanes, ping pong tables and you can even play beer bong. They serve an American-inspired menu and have an extensive cocktail and beer selection.
Sky Lounge
With an iconic location, this bar, on the top floor of the DoubleTree Hilton hotel, overlooks the city's skyline, and it's certainly a romantic spot.
Golden Acre Park
For a date with an outdoor theme, try the beautiful Golden Acre, between Adel and Bramhope. There's a cafe, a lake, plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife and lots of walking. And there's more than one acre - there are 179 of them!
West Yorkshire Playhouse
A cosy and intimate venue, the Playhouse has a varied programme, making it ideal for a discerning date. Lesser-known productions sit on the bill alongside musicals and classic plays.
Sunshine Bakery
This twee bakery in Chapel Allerton serves some of the best cakes in Leeds. As well as the aesthetic delights of the brownies and cupcakes, it has a full lunch and afternoon tea menu. Be warned, the seating area is small, so booking is recommended for a weekend visit.
