Gamecock sacks leaders

Stanley Doughty (pictured) and Dakota Walker shared the team lead in sacks with 3.5 each -- a number that remains the third-lowest total for a leader in this stat since the Gamecocks entered the SEC.

Casper Brinkley, shown tackling Kentucky quarterback Andre Woodson, shared the team lead in sacks with Eric Norwood. They had 7 each.

Get used to this face -- Eric Norwood, who spent time at both linebacker and defensive end during his USC career, led the Gamecocks with 6 sacks in 2007.

Look familiar? Eric Norwood leads Gamecocks in sacks for the third consecutive year, this time notching 9, one off a school record set by Andrew Provence in 1982.

And one for the road: Norwood shares the sacks lead with Cliff Matthews, both registering 7. Norwood leads or shares the lead in sacks all four of his seasons, matching a feat accomplished only by John Abraham (1996-1999) since the stat was first kept in 1972.

Melvin Ingram stepped into the pass-rush void left by Eric Norwood's departure and racked up 9 sacks.

Melvin Ingram again led the Gamecocks in sacks, matching Andrew Provence's 1982 single-season record with 10.

A year after Melvin Ingram matched it, Jadeveon Clowney shattered the school's single-season sack record with 13, including 4.5 against rival Clemson.

Although Jadeveon Clowney returned for his junior season, Kelcy Quarles led the team in sacks, posting 9.5.

Jordan Diggs (pictured) and Gerald Dixon led USC in sacks ... but with just 2 each. As a team, the Gamecocks had only 14 sacks.
