Ideal life in the 1950's

Everyone, men, women an children were expected to live a certain way. Men worked and got the money, women stayed home and the children were expected to help out. Everyone had a place and a certain job to play in their family.

Men were expected to have jobs since they were the source of income for the family, a typical job for the men in the 1950's was a mechanic, plumber, drivers, warehouse workers, construction, servers.

A women in the 1950's wasn't expected to have a job or anything that involved being outside the house. A women was trained and taught to be a housewife since a young age, they would care for their husband, clean the house and care for the kids.

Besides attending school and coming back, the children/teenagers helped out the family. The males would mow the lawn or whatever the men did in the house while the females were taught how to cook, clean and care just like the wife did.

Dance in the 1950's broke out of the traditional dances, new styles and moves were created that especially the teens picked up. In most parties the new dances or moves appeared such as the jitterbug or swing, Lindy, the rock'n'roll, boogie-woogie or bop.

Music in the 1950's expanded and created a lot of controversy because not everyone liked or agreed with it. The men and women mostly enjoyed classic pop, jazz or blues while the teenagers liked rock and roll or pop.

Romance during the 1950's was quite calm and serious, most women and men were married around their early 20s and babies always then came after marriage. Dating in teenagers would be done slow and organized, it is completely different from now a days.

In the 1950's the typical ways of having fun was different from now a days, men and women would go bowling but mostly men to hangout out with their pals they also watched TV or listen to the radio. Teenagers on the other hand would go out with friends, on dates, to diners, listen to music or watch TV. It was different for both groups but that was their ways of having fun.

Meals or food in the 1950's are different in a way than now a days. Meals back then were bigger since the women had the time to cook it. during that time they also invent TV dinners where the meal was ready so the family could sit in front of the TV and eat.

Fashion in the 1950's was completely different from now a days, the dressing was the same for everyone. Women and girls were expected to wear dresses that mostly showed off their skinny waist while men were all about the suit along with the boys that always dressed casual.
