Elf

Elf

You are an elf! You can live to be over 700 years old, far older than most other races, and you are often wiser because of that fact. But because of your longevity, you have a harder time making friends with other, more short-lived races. In general, you are lithe and slender, and often considered beautiful, and you have a love for music, nature, and the arts! You take a long time to change your opinion, but you are always open minded and seeking out new knowledge, which is a big reason why elves seek out the life on an adventurer! You tend to talk first, fight later, and you tend to the chaotic side of things, seeing reflected in chaos the natural world that you probably grew up in and dearly love. You are more likely good than evil, but that doesn't mean you are entirely selfless all the time. The wisdom of an elf is an invaluable addition to any party.

Half-Elf

Half-Elf

You are a half-elf! You have the blood of elves and humans running through your veins, you are often considered to have got the best attributes of both races, with the drawback of never truly feeling at home. You have the drive and ambition and curiosity of a human with the tempered wisdom and good sense of an elf. You live longer than humans, but are a big distant for their tastes, and you don't live nearly as long as elves, and are a tad immature for them, so you don't quite fit in anywhere. You are often considered beautiful and a jack of all trades! Your lucky mix of genes gives you the ability to succeed at whatever you set out to do. Unless, that is, you're setting out to find somewhere where you truly belong. Many half-elves become adventurers for this very reason! Falling in with a rag tag assortment of adventurers finally gives the half-elf a place to call home. Half-elves tend to be even more chaotic than their elven ancestors and are equally good and evil as humans.

Dwarf

Dwarf

You are a dwarf! You are strong and hardy and you suffer no fools! (But you often have a soft spot for fools.) You can live to be 400 years old or older, so you share similarities with the elves when it comes to your difficulty in creating lasting friendships with other races. However, you would probably chafe at being compared to the elves, as you dwarves prefer mountains over forests, mines over music, and gold over glamour. You are steadfast in your ways, and are more likely lawful, as you probably value your family and clan and the customs and traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation over all other things. That is the honorable way after all, which is also the main reason dwarves become adventurers. Honor, glory, and riches, for oneself, for one's clan, for one's kingdom! It's hard to crack your stony exterior sometimes, but once you've decided someone is your friend, you will stick with them 'til the end. The loyalty of a dwarf is welcome in any party!

Halfling

Halfling

You are a halfling! You are just as likely to the life of the party as you are to be making friends with the dog at the party. You care most about family, community, and the comforts of home, so you might not even go to the party! You live longer than the typical human, but not nearly as long as dwarves or elves, and you fit in anywhere. You are not necessarily the most beautiful or the strongest, but you are probably the kindest and most nimble and most well-liked of your party! You are a welcome addition to any adventuring party, or to any township or city for that matter, as halflings have a way of making themselves useful! You also have the advantage of being small and unassuming, so if you don't want to be noticed, you probably aren't. You are loyal to a fault, and your loyalty to your town, your family, or your friends is probably what started you on the path of adventuring! As you are one of the small and not one of the mighty, you hate bullies and love fighting injustice!

Gnome

Gnome

You are a gnome! You love life SO much and squeeze enjoyment out of every waking moment! You talk quickly and think even faster. You're probably the smartest person you've ever met, and you might be the funniest person you've ever met as well. You love jokes and pranks of all kind, but you love your chosen pursuit even more, whether that's engineering, tinkering, or even adventuring! Gnomes are longer lived than halflings, and can live to be 500 years old, and find themselves either living in gnomish communities, or amongst humans, where their knowledge and expertise is prized. Gnomes want to go everywhere and see everything, and their hunger for new experiences and new knowledge is often what leads them to a life of adventuring. Other races are sometimes thrown off by a gnome's quirks, especially their unending supply of energy and joie de vivre, but are normally won over by the gnome's quick wit and ample cheer. The cleverness of a gnome is a boon to any adventuring party!

Human

Human

You are a human! You are the most widespread and common of all the races, but you are also the most versatile! There is no typical human, and the human race's ability to adapt to any circumstance is what makes it so indomitable. You could be strong, fast, tough, wise, clever, or beautiful, lawful, evil, good, chaotic, anything! Humans often become adventurers for fame, power, or wealth, but truly, these are all means to an end: legacy. Humans are short lived, and the only way for a human to achieve immortality and to make a real difference in the world is for their deeds to be remembered for generations to come. So humans are constantly championing causes to change the world, starting wars, and ending empires. While some of the more long lived races might look down on them and accuse humans of not seeing the forest for the trees, humans would probably retort that you can't have a forest without trees! A human is often the lynchpin of a party, as they get along well with everyone.

Half-Orc

Half-Orc

You are a half-orc! You tower over the rest of the races in size and strength due to your orc blood, but your determination and curiosity from your human side make it hard to stay with or be raised by pure blooded orcs. Thusly, many half-orcs form their own communities, or hit the road to seek out adventure, glory, and the carnal pleasures of love and loot, often falling in with adventurers due to their impressive physicality. Many races treat you with suspicion at first, thanks to deep seated aggression between orcs and more civilized races, so you do your best to fit in to the communities you travel through, whether by being the strongest around, the loudest and most fun around, or the kindest and most diligent around. You feel all things intensely, the good and the bad, so there is no rage hotter than yours, no sorrow deeper, but also no joy more intense, and no laughter more loud. You tend towards chaos, but are not always evil, unlike the more predictable orcs in your bloodline.

Tiefling

Tiefling

You are a tiefling! You are mysterious, misunderstood, and mesmerizing to behold. Your infernal heritage makes itself well-known in your demonic appearance, however, you are not naturally evil like the demons in your bloodline, but you do tend towards chaos. You are one of the more rare races, and people are not used to seeing you out and about, so you face a lot of suspicion and alarm when you mingle with other races. Because of this, you are self-reliant, and tend to stick with other tieflings, or other small groups that you can trust, like an adventuring party. Because you learned not to trust anyone early on, you are a hard nut to crack, but once someone has proven themselves loyal to you, you are a loyal friend in return. You are naturally drawn to magic, but you also have learned to wheel and deal well, and that combined with your natural beauty makes you a versatile threat. Tieflings are not the most common sight, but any adventuring party would find their skills invaluable.

Dragonborn

Dragonborn

You are a dragonborn! You are a combination of the best attributes of dragons and of humanoids. Physically, you look similar to a small dragon walking upright, and you are often met with awe at your looks, but whether that awe comes from terror or from appreciating the beauty of your draconic looks depends on the individual. Dragonborn are taller and more physically imposing than humans, and live in clans that they are devoted to above all else. Similar to the dragons that created them, dragonborn tend to either be very good or very evil, although how lawful they are depends on their clan. Dragonborn strive for excellence, which often leads them to adventuring. They are a proud folk and more than anything they hope to bring glory and honor to themselves and their clan. Dragonborn are naturally adept at magic because of their draconic bloodline, but their size and toughness make them good fighters as well. Their considerable talents make them a welcome addition to any party.
