Never do this in your PTE Preparation
Preparing for an exam is never an easy thing. Even before you start preparation you have to think of many things – how much time to give to your preparation, which topics to focus on, which books or courses to follow, and lots more. PTE preparation is similar. Infact it is even more difficult because the exam is critically important to your success in life. You need to get a good score in PTE Academic to meet the English requirements of your visa. To make it simple for you, here are our top things to not do as part of your PTE Preparation.
Don’t believe in random tips and tricks
If someone tells you that doing a certain thing will dramatically change your score, then always take it with a pinch of salt. Think logically and ask yourself if there is any scientific explanation behind it. Don’t think that the people behind PTE Academic are so stupid that they will leave easy loopholes for you to exploit. People who depend on just tips and tricks often end up giving the exam dozens of time and end up frustrated and short of money. You don’t want to be one of those.
Don’t focus only on few topics and ignore others
If you think you will only focus on the topics which carry the maximum score, you will be shocked to see your result. Each and every topic is equally important if you want to get a high score. Pearson has never officially explained how much weightage they give to each question or which questions they consider easy and which questions they consider difficult. So, it is better that you buckle down and study each and every topic for the PTE exam.
Don’t be in a hurry to give your exam
Without proper preparation and spending sufficient time on understanding PTE concepts and topics, you will run the risk of wasting your time and money. Give yourself a period of at least a month if you are aiming for a score of 65 and a couple of months at least if you want to get 79 plus. Of course, this can vary from person to person and the individual’s language skills.
Don’t study as and when you feel like
Discipline is very important when you are preparing for PTE. Do not sit down to study whenever you feel like and miss the other days. Make sure you spend some time every day. If possible study at the same fixed time each day. Don’t study more than one or two topics in a day. Study one thing, but study it properly.
Don’t burden yourself too much
It is true that PTE is a very important exam for you. But don’t burden yourself by thinking too much. This way you will only end up under unnecessary pressure. Instead of worrying about what might happen if you don’t get your desired score, focus on the positives. Think about what will happen when you get your desired score. Think about the things you need to learn. Think about the glorious time after you achieve your score.
