Here are few tips and reminders for those discerning their vocation.
* The best way to hear God's voice is to spend time with Him. Bring your thoughts and concerns to your prayer time (make sure that happens at least daily!), go to Adoration, and frequent the Mass and the Sacraments as often as you can. These things are not just for those called to the religious life. All of us need to spend time with God!
* Remember, God is not going to call you to do something that is completely opposite of what your heart desires. Imaginesisters.org features pictures of Nuns on their Facebook page. Look at their faces. These are not women who simply could not find a husband. These women are in love with the Lord and with the life they have been called to. They radiate joy. They were not dragged kicking and screaming to a convent because there were no good men left! You will not be forced into a vocation because of a lack of other options.
* Seek spiritual direction. A priest or a spiritual director can help you to find the answers to the questions that your heart is asking.
* Keep an open heart and mind. Ask questions such as: What does Jesus want of me? How will I best serve Him? What vocation will lead me to heaven? How will I help others know the love of God through my vocation?
*Ask for confirmation. Look for confirmation from close friends, family members, and your spiritual leaders. They know you well and can give insight into your discernment process. Also look for spiritual confirmation. God often sends us signs through the Word of God and in the natural world that can help to point us in the right direction.

And the “test” of a good Christian vocation is to ask yourself: “How is my relationship with these two mothers going?”, with mother Church and with mother Mary.
