An embittered Confederate soldier, Jesse James became an outlaw after the end of the civil war wanting to reclaim what he felt he had lost in the conflict. Billy the Kid was a prized gunslinger whose precocity as an outlaw earned him his nickname. He killed eight men in his short career on the wrong side of the law and was a key figure in New Mexico's Lincoln County War. Crazy Horse was a Native American war leader who took up arms to fight against encroachments by US settlers into the territory of his Lakota people who were based in North and South Dakotas. General Custer
General George Armstrong Custer was a Union Army officer and cavalry commander who was famous for both his victories as well as for his flamboyant and unconventional commanding style. Holy man and military leader, Sitting Bull led the Lakota people during years of resistance to United States government policies. His prophetic visions predicted the Lakota triumph at the Battle of Little Big Horn, the battle where Union Army officer and cavalry commander General Custer was killed. Wyatt Earp made his name in the gunfight of the OK Coral where the lawman killed three outlaws. As well as being a lawman, throughout his life, Wyatt Earp had a varied CV including stints as a teamster, buffalo hunter, innkeeper, gambler, brothel keeper, miner, and boxing referee.
